THE FAMILY DOCTOR

Good family practice physicians bring much more to the patient than medical knowledge. They bring understanding based on things like family history. They can often recognize possible health problems because they know the family background, and they have often treated other family members. Like the family doctor of yesterday, they have a relationship with patients based on trust and shared experiences.

If you want a primary care physician like that, Robert A. Hornsby, M.D., is a great choice.

Don Halpin
Physician's Assistant

Don Halpin developed his interest in helping people the hard way - as a medical evac helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Yet he still finds the opportunity to impact someone's health positively as exciting as it was nearly 30 years ago.

As a physician's assistant in family practice, he deals with a diversity of patients and problems, from infants and children to adults and the elderly. And, while the volume of information, medication and technology have changed dramatically, the chance to improve the quality of people's lives remains the same.

Don became a physician's assistant with Butler Medical Associates in 1994, after three years at Allegheny General and several similar positions in Michigan.

He finds life in the Butler area "easy going" and "laidback" as are the "friendly, generous people" who live here. In keeping with the local tradition, he is an avid car buff who enjoys upgrading and showing his 2004 40th anniversary edition Mustang convertible as often as possible.
